Coach Barbo, in his first year as Head Coach, is no stranger to the game of basketball. With 25 years of experience across various levels—including youth, junior high, and high school—he brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to our program. Coach Barbo has previously led Youth Travel teams, served as Head Coach for Girls Junior High, and held the role of Varsity Assistant for the Girls’ team at Geneva. His dedication to player development and passion for the game are invaluable assets, and we’re excited to have him lead our team this season.
David Yost.
Varsity Assistant
Biography:
Title: Varsity Assistant
Years Experience: 1st Year
Coach Dave Yost, our new Varsity Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, brings an impressive and diverse coaching background to the team. Although it’s his first year with us, he has accumulated extensive experience across multiple sports. Coach Yost served as Head Coach for two years at Ledgemont, spent seven years as Freshman Coach under Coach Brad Ellis, and has been JV Girls Tennis Coach for an incredible 16 years. He’s also a long-time Track Assistant, boasting 15 years of track experience! Additionally, Coach Yost has coached JV Softball and JV Volleyball for two years at Ledgemont. His well-rounded expertise and passion make him a great asset to our program.
Bobby McQuoid.
JV / Varsity Assistant
Biography:
Title: JV Coach / Varsity Assistant
Years Experience: 3rd
Coach Bobby McQuoid is in his second year as JV Coach and third year overall as Varsity Assistant, bringing dedication and expertise to the Geneva basketball program. With one year of experience at Geneva and a prior year at Lakeside, he has found great fulfillment working with Geneva athletes. Beyond basketball, Coach McQuoid has an impressive 15 years of experience as Head Track and Field Coach at Geneva and seven years as Head Volleyball Coach at Chardon High School. Passionate about the lifelong lessons athletics offer, Coach McQuoid is committed to instilling the values of hard work, teamwork, and resilience in his players.
